stomach bug blues

stomach bug blues
i made it to the water’s edge
greeted by these hues
the pictures didn’t get it
the odd pane of crystal glass
totally smooth
perfectly clear
every so many waves
right to my feet

even before I went there
it was like the sun was new

A. H / K. H-H (15th & 16th January 2020)

lifeline in a stormy sea
still hope from all you’ve been
may be

clung to, never never let this go
pull on though all you feel
is tow

finding then as you’re pulled on
faith in the current in which
you’re gone

as faith dawns straightaway strong
find yourself drowning
in the sea of song

hope, faith, love
mighty three
hold weeping laughing
on love’s high sea

Pale Light

pale light east blind white
fresh daybreak laid untrodden
awakens past life

A. H / K. H-H (16th April 2019)

Dawn Lights Golden Hearts

dawn lights golden hearts
through friendly thin white curtains
brights orange flowered walls
almost makes painted birds sing
poets embrace their heart-song

A. H / K. H-H (13th December)

the year is dying

bring me fire, wine a dancing throng
pyre piled dead wood high
pruned hard this seasons’s dormant depth
light’s long labour so begun
a twinkle in our eyes
we mark in hope this dark gestation

this poem is continued here

near deepest darkness
years of growth cut back, attacked
not academic
to wonder of light’s rebirth
pray true gleams coming may yet thrive
