the quest for fusion

after How The World Split in Two by Moniza Alvi

split and split again
fission’s procession
along and across all equators

nothing is true
that cannot be split again
hands hearts and hush
torn asunder
until until until

luminous tears
their half lives run
wash back to us
sing song sung

Written at todays Lapidus HOTT workshop in response to the poem ‘How the world Split in Two’ by Moniza Alvi, we were encouraged to sue her verse structure of 3, 5, 4 lines and I have referred to her imagery — sadly not as beautifully as she.
